WIMWA is proud to present the 2021 program showcasing extraordinary local and international industry trailblazers and thought leaders, featuring two days of fascinating speakers and conversation.

The Summit opens with a half day program on Thursday starting with our Breakfast for Champions, featuring Harvard Business School Professor Frances Frei in conversation with Megan McCracken. Frances is acknowledged globally as a thought leader on leadership and strategy and is well known for fixing iconic organisations corporate culture such as Uber. Frances also developed one of the most popular classes at Harvard Business School – Leading Difference  which fundamentally challenges the view of the type of leadership that is needed in a world that is increasingly divided and in organisations that are increasingly diverse.

Following morning tea, we will have a great industry panel to discuss leadership in a conversation based on one of France Frei’s premises – Building (And Rebuilding) Trust While Empowering Everyone Around You we are delighted that Alex Bates Regional Senior Vice-President Newmont, Kellie Parker Chief Executive, Australia at Rio Tinto will join Elizabeth Gaines and Jessica Farrell n a panel discussion facilitated by Meri Fatin.

This will be followed by a special keynote presentation still to be announced that will not disappoint! and followed by a delicious networking lunch.

Our full day Summit program on Friday is diverse and interesting – including the entertaining and seriously smart Nagoski sisters – Amelia Nagoski D.M.A. and Emily Nagoski Ph.D., who will discuss their acclaimed book Burnout: the secret to unlocking the stress cycle.

Liz Fosslien and Mollie West Duffy best known as @lizandmollie are incredibly gifted in distilling complex messages in relation to the hugely important matters of diversity, equity,  inclusion and belonging. They will unpack their unique point of view and guide us through an interactive workshop.

We will hear from Julia Banks, the author of PowerPlay, and Special Advisor to Gender Equity Victoria and a formally a member of the Federal Government of Australia.

A special appearance is planned with Justin Baldoni Actor, Author  of Man Enough: Undefining My Masculinity, Podcaster and change maker

Annabel Crabb will join us in a conversation with Professor Cordelia Fine about biases and other tricks of the mind.

We will spotlight important Australian research by Dr Leonora Risse – an economist with expertise in gender equality, economic psychology and wellbeing. Economics is a very male dominated field and Leonora brings a rich social history to her analysis.

As predicted the WIMWA Summit 2021 is designed to showcase and celebrate extraordinary industry voices, with presentations from some of the best in the business including Marnie Finlayson, Managing Director Borates and Lithium at Rio Tinto, Laura Allen Process Owner at Woodside Energy, Pooja Haria Reliability Engineer, Solomon for Fortescue Metals Group and  Rebecca Prain Managing Director Cube Consulting  we will be joined via livestream by renowned journalist and broadcaster, Annabel Crabb .
