WIMWA Summit 2022

The WIMWA committee is delighted to launch our 14th annual conference

It’s been a big few years and we have a lot to talk about so we are pleased to  confirm that we have both Leigh Sales AM and Annabel Crabb joining us in person in 2022.

We will again be hosting two programmes – the Leadership day on Thursday 22nd of September which starts early with our ‘breakfast for champions’ and concludes with a networking lunch. Followed on Friday 23rd of September with a later start but a full day program ending with a celebratory sundowner.

Hosting speakers in person again will mean we will also have lots of Australian talent across the two days and we are proud that Australian author, lawyer and activist Bri Lee  will join us in Perth  Bri’s 2018 memoir Eggshell Skull explores sexism in the legal industry and justice system, and tells the story of how many barriers women – including Bri herself – face when trying to access justice. Also Antoinette Latouf who co-founded Media Diversity Australia and has recently released a guide filled with practical tools, using warmth, humour, and research to share evidence-based solutions. We are pleased that one of hits from last year, Liz Fosslien and Mollie West Duffy (best known as @lizandmollie)  will be joining us again in 2022 to discuss big feelings at work with some excellent tips on how to be okay when things are not okay. From the UK we will hear from one of the first female disaster planners:  Professor Lucy Easthope who, for over two decades, has challenged others to think differently about what comes next and how to recover, after tragic events. She is a passionate and thought-provoking voice in an area that few know about: emergency planning.

We look forward to enjoying the beautiful voice of Gina Williams accompanied on guitar by Guy Ghouse.

There are many other surprises in store that we will reveal a little closer to the event and saving the best for last we will showcase and celebrate the full range of diverse,  inspiring and extraordinary industry voices throughout the event.

We will again be at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre with two of their large pavilion spaces.
