With the emergence of co-working spaces as an economical option for entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals across Perth, we recognised that none of the spaces offer a fully equipped creche to enable people with young babies/toddlers to focus on their professional endeavours, particularly with the challenges of finding a childcare or occasional care. With evidence showing that lack of childcare is a significant barrier to either re-entering the workforce or returning to the office following parental leave, we have combined a workspace with a creche as a solution.
BubDesk is located at 12 Lindsay Street, Perth (close to Newcastle and Beaufort Street). With ample parking and the train station nearby, we have two levels in the historical flour mill which was recently renovated. The top floor will be the creche run by AJ Nannies who have a permanent office space within BubDesk. Your child will be cared for by qualified nannies and the creche has a morning and afternoon session costing only $40 for a full day. There is a separate sleep room, kitchen area and toilet facilities and feeding chairs for those who are still nursing.
On the floor below we have 12 co-working desks and will soon have 3 private offices as well. We have weekly yoga sessions, fruit baskets and you will be amongst a diverse range of professionals and business owners.
Our membership options include free monthly networking events as well as educational sessions for Baby Steps, Up and Running and All or Nothing level members.
We are also partnering with larger organisations across Perth who offer flexibility and support to primary care-givers so please get in touch if you are looking for an additional way to engage and retain your top talent.
Our crowdfunding campaign (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/perth-s-co-working-space-with-a-creche#/) finishes on 30 January so get in quick! All founding members will be invited to a networking event on Wednesday 10 February and we open the doors the following week.
