The Department of Local Government and Communities is committed to supporting initiatives which enable women to enhance their economic independence and overcome barriers to their participation in leadership roles.  Western Australia’s mining and resources sector continues to provide significant opportunities for women. To enable women to make the best of these opportunities, the Department of Local Government and Communities is supporting the WIMWA Mentoring Program by offering three scholarships for women to participate in this successful program in the first semester of 2015.
WIMWA’s mentoring program is tailored to suit women working in the mining and resource sector. The program offers women career guidance and direction by sharing mentor/mentee experiences, developing career goals and forging exceptional mentoring relationships. More information about the program is available at this link
